Labelling. (2016)

For this project, I wanted to show the manipulation of labelling. I have researched about the effect labels have on people wether this is a good or a bad label, a simple  label like short or a more definitive one like thief. I aim to ask others about the labels they have been given and find out what it would be like to be called these labels, but in my shoes and with my feelings. I want to show to people that we are not products to be defined by a label because we are more than that. Inspired by a quote from “On Being Sane In Insane Places” that said “Once a person is designated abnormal, all of his other behaviours and characteristics are coloured by that label”, and the book “A Little Life” I have looked at the way people may live after certain situations or after being told certain labels. Through this project, I want to show that we should respect everyone, as we all have a battle to fight and everybody feels like their battle is the biggest one.
